A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to invalid addresses under the same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from friends or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some point you may start receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting
Setting up a catch-all email mailbox will be remarkably easy in case you have a Linux web hosting package with our company. You can enable this feature through our powerful, albeit simple-to-work-with Email Manager, which is part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will manage your shared web hosting account. You’ll see all the mailboxes that you have created listed in alphabetical order and on the right side of each one of them there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously reveal to you if a certain mailbox stores all the messages for a given domain name or not. With one click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this feature whenever you want. In case there’s activated email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a specific domain name, you’ll get an alert from our system. The latter won’t replace/deactivate anything automatically and without your approval.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The custom-created Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server package that we offer will allow you to set up a catch-all mailbox without difficulty even in case you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to accomplish that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address that you’ve created with your domains in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you’ve already set up another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding enabled. If you reach the decision that you do not want this feature anymore, you can remove it by clicking once again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
